God gave us the vision to start a church in the way that He designed it.

Studying Acts 2, it is clear what the major points of the church were:

They taught the word of God and they built genuine fellowship.

Since God gave us the model of a church, why not follow it? People say that the model of church in the first century won’t work because it is a different time. Based on Biblical principles, that cannot be true. The Holy Spirit doesn’t change. What He did in the first century He can and will do in the twenty first century.

It is not the Holy Spirit that has changed, it is us. We have become too busy or just not interested. For many, church has become a Sunday tradition and isn’t about community and caring for one another. If we focus on God’s word and obey it, we can experience true community as God intended it!
