Statement Of Faith
What does
the Bible say about God?
There is only one God
who exists eternally in
three persons, the
Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit (the
Trinity). God is the
creator of the universe
and desires all to be
saved.
(Deut 6:4, Matt 28:19, 2
Tim 3:16)
What does
the Bible say about
Jesus?
Jesus is the second part
of the Trinity, the Son
of God. Jesus was sent
to earth to be born of a
virgin. He grew to a
man and was fully human,
experiencing all that
humans experience, yet
He was fully God. He
fulfilled God’s plan and
died for our sins, rose
from the dead on the
third day and went up to
heaven and remains there
until He comes again.
All who believe in
Jesus, will be forgiven,
made right before God
and will spend eternity
with God.
(Luke 1:34-38, John 10:30, Rom 5:9,
Acts 2:23-24, Matt 26:64, Titus 3:4-7)
What does
the Bible say about the
Holy Spirit?
We
believe the Holy Spirit
is the third person of
the Trinity and as such
is fully God. He reveals
God to us, guides us in
our everyday life and
helps us to be able to
live in a way that is
pleasing and obedient to
God. God desires to
live in us as the Holy
Spirit, filling us and
setting us apart (called
“sanctification”) to
glorify God in all our
life. This filling is
both a decision and a
process that will take a
lifetime of maturing to
become complete.
(John 14:15-18,
John 13:16)
What does
the Bible say about the
Bible?
The Bible is inspired by
God, totally accurate,
without error as
originally given.
Because the Bible was
written by God, not men,
the Bible is just as
relevant today as it was
1,800 years ago. The
Bible gives us a wealth
of knowledge for
understanding God, how
to make our relationship
with Him strong and
right, as well as
instruction for
day-to-day living. It
is powerful!
(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20)
What does
the Bible say about Man?
Man was God’s wonderful
creation and we were
created in His image.
We were created to
fellowship with God.
Adam and Eve were
separated from God by
their sin as we all
are. We all sin! Only
Jesus Christ was without
sin. We can receive
forgiveness for our sins
from God by accepting
Jesus as our Savior
because He died for our
sins.
(Gen 1:27, Rom 3:23, 1
Cor 15:20-23)
What does
the Bible say about Sin?
Sin is disobedience to
God’s commands.
Everyone sins as no one
is perfect. This sin
separates us from God.
The justifiable result
of sin is death. God
sent His Son Jesus to
die on the cross, in our
place, to cover our
sins. Jesus’ death was
payment for our sins.
(Rom 3:23, Heb 2:9)
What does
the Bible say about
Salvation?
Being “saved” means one
has accepted Jesus as
their savior, repented
(turned away from) of
their sins, resulting in
spending eternity in
heaven with God. Nobody
can do enough to
get to heaven. We are
saved by God’s grace.
He offers salvation as a
gift; all we have to do
is accept that gift. If
we do not place our
trust in Jesus, we will
spend eternity separated
from God, in a very real
place called hell.
(Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7)
What does
the Bible say about the
Church?
Church was instituted by
God and Jesus died for
the church. It is not
the building but the
people inside the
building who have
accepted Jesus as their
Savior. God’s word
instructs us not to stop
meeting together.
Church is very important
as we can pray together,
worship together,
encourage one another,
learn about each other’s
needs, and observe the
ordinances of Baptism
and the Lord’s Supper.
(Acts 20:28, Heb 10:25, Acts 2:41-47)
What does
the Bible say about the
Second Coming of Christ?
Jesus Christ is coming
again. His coming will
be physical and could
happen at any time and
only God knows when that
time is. He will
establish His Kingdom
and rule on earth for a
thousand years and those
who are in the church
(believers in Christ)
will be included in His
Kingdom.
(Heb 10:37)
